If you're interested in helping, thank you! This is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and support from the community is welcomed and appreciated. Below are some ways you can help.
Coaching: No experience in either coaching or soccer is necessary. We'll need LOTS of coaches to make this program as successful as possible. This will probably be the most time-consuming volunteering opportunity, but also the most rewarding. If you would like to make an impact, please strongly consider coaching. Materials will be available to help get you started with ideas for how to structure a practice, skills that are appropriate for each age group, ideas for drills, etc. More coaches = smaller teams = more play time = happier and more successful kids. A background check and concussion training will be required.
Fundraising: We are a 501(c)3. If you own or know of a business that would like to donate tax-free, this would be a great way to help. We could also consider selling snacks, donuts, or hot cocoa at games if somebody would be interested in organizing that. We're open to other ideas as well. Funds would be used to purchase equipment, maintain fields, run the program, and keep costs down for families.
Field Maintenance: The school will keep the fields mowed, but we'll need to keep the lines in good shape. This would require possibly weekly painting of lines.
Game-Day Prep: Each Saturday morning there will be a few tasks that need to be done to prep for the day. Flags, signs, and maybe a couple of other miscellaneous tasks.
Game-Day Clean-up: At the end of the day, we want to leave the fields free of debris and/or forgotten items. Having somebody willing to stay until the fields are cleaned up would be a great help.
Lost and Found: Inevitably stuff will be left behind, and we'll need to stay organized to get lost items back to their owners.
Sign-Ups: There will be 2-3 in-person opportunities to sign-up for soccer. A couple of extra people would be helpful to answer questions and help parents get forms filled out.
Equipment management: Practice equipment will need to be assessed, distributed, and collected each season.
Referees: At the youngest age, games are refereed by coaches, but our older divisions will need referees for each game.
There may be other areas of need as well. If you have an idea or a skill to offer, please reach out.
